Wood burning Stoves
Constructed from steel or cast iron these stoves are designed primarily to burn wood, although certain models can be multi fuel if fitted with a grate. Can be fitted with a boiler to provide hot water and heat several radiators.

Multi-fuel Stoves
Designed to burn wood & coal. Constructed from steel or cast iron. Can be fitted with a boiler to provide hot water and heat several radiators.

Gas Stoves
Constructed from steel or cast iron. Some models require no chimney at all if fitted to an outside wall.

Oil Stoves
An alternative to gas. Using 28 Sec heating oil, so you will require a storage tank.

Electric Stoves
These realistic stoves negate the need for even an outside wall and give even greater flexibility when it comes to finding the ideal place for your stove.

What size stove do I need?

Stove size depends on the size of your room, use our online calculator to calculate the correct size for you.

Will the glass stay clean?

If the stove is used correctly and your fuel is well seasoned, the airwash system will help keep your glass clean.

What's the difference between cast iron and steel?

Cast iron will retain the heat longer than steel but steel will heat up quicker. Cast iron can also be moulded.

How much space do I need around the stove?

The more space the better, however a minimum of 150mm either side and 300mm on top is preferable. If a wooden beam or lintel is above the stove then a gap of 450mm is required.

Does my chimney need to be lined?

Every installation is different so it it is important to let a qualified Hetas engineer check this for you .Click here to find a list if installers near you.

What can I burn on a stove?

Well seasoned logs or off cuts of wood are fine. If you have a multi fuel stove smokeless coal can be used as well as wood.

Can I use a stove in a smokeless zone?

All multi fuel stoves can be used in a smokeless zone as long as smokeless fuel is used. If you want to burn wood you will need an approved appliance.

Do I need air vents in the room?

Only if the rated kilowatt output is more than 5. For every kilowatt over 5 you will need 1square inch.

Can I have a stove with a boiler?

Some, but not all stoves can have a boiler fitted and some stoves have integral boilers.Sizes vary from 4000 btu up to 40000
